Restoring Marine Life

Excess fishing is today's top threat to ocean health. Evidence shows that fish populations decline can be reversed through well-planned, effectively executed fisheries management, preventing catches from exceeding scientific limits, recovering stocks' health, mitigating ecosystem impacts and reversing biodiversity loss. Yet, across much of the Global South, many fisheries remain undermanaged, lacking science-based rules and trusted enforcement.

I4OA focuses on filling the global fisheries management gap, by engaging key players and facilitating practical actions to advance cost-effective, science-based management so fish stocks recover and thrive.
